Dinners, Teas for
Parents.
Many sororities and fraternities
are planning: to have dinners, teas
and entertainments in honor of
their parents, as is the usual cus
tom for mothers' day, which is
next Sunday. The majority of the
parties will be next Sunday, altho
the following- groups have already
held theirs:
Delta Zeta.
Last Sunday Delta Zeta enter
tained at a 1 o'clock dinner with
tables centered with spring flow
ers. About thirty guests attended,
among them were Dr. and Mrs. D.
B. James of Sterling, Mr, and Mrs.
A. F. Geyer of Waterville, Kan
sas, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Cathers of
Omaha, and Mr. and Mrs. Wull
brandt of Exeter.
Acacia.
Acacia fraternity members ac
companied their mothers to the
morning services at Westminster
Presbyterian church Sunday and
then served them a 1 o'clock din
ner at the chapter house at which
Herbert Yenne was toastmaster.
Toasts were offered by Mrs. W, A,
Erown, Mrs. L. C. Rankin, Frank
lin Meier and Oz Black. Eugene
Ellsworth entertained with piano
selections and readings were given
by Barbara Perry. Out of town
guests were Mrs. Charles H. Zeig
ler of Vesta, Mrs. Gallant of Grand
Island and Mrs. Beckman of Gar
land, Kappa Sigma.
Thirty mothers were honored by
Kappa Sigma Sunday at a 1:15
o'clock dinner at the chapter
house. Appointments were made in
the fraternity colors, scarlet, green
and white. Among the out of town
mothers were Mrs. A. F. Ely, of
Grand Island; Mrs. L. P. Young,
Wichita, Kansas; Mrs. Oskwig and
Mrs. W. A. Nelson of Oakland;
Mrs. W. L. Patten, Sterling, Colo
rado; Mrs. Verges and Mrs. Muller
of Norfolk; Mrs. Luedke, Stanton;
Mrs. Stella Long, York; and Mrs.
C. L. McGlasson, Wood River.
Phi Delta Theta.
Phi Delta Theta held a Mothers
day dinner at the chapter house
last Sunday which was attended
by about fifty-five mothers. Among
those from out of town who at
tended were Mesdames Louise
Comstock, Lee A. Smith, Miles
Houck. S. H. Pray, H. P. Gipson
T. L. Benzon all of Omaha; W. D.
Deskins, North Platte; Peter Hor
cham, sr., Ransom Kansas; C. A.

worth, Grand Island; W. E. Jen
kins, Council Bluffs; D. M. Mohr,
Coleridge; R. H. Mathew, Loup

R. Cochran, Brady.
Those fraternities and sororities
planning parties on Mothers day

Alpha Chi Omega.
Alpha Chi Omega will be host
esses to their parents at a 1 o'clock
dinner at the chapter house. Betty
Barrows is in charge of the ar
rangements and has as her assist
ants, Olive Jack, Kathleen Rad
cliff and Alice King.
Alpha Delta Theta.
The Alpha Delta Theta mothers
tea will take place at the chapter
house Sunday between the hours
of 4 and 6 o'clock at which time
a musical program will be pre
sented by Olive Becker, Erma Bie
berstein, and Evelyn Wells. Evelyn
Johnson is in general charge.
Among the out of town mothers
will be Mrs. Fred Diet of Scrib-

honor of their parents. Spring

tions with a green and yellow color
scheme carried out in the appoint

Esther Widner is in charge as
sisted by Alice Meill and Lucille
Halsted.
Kappa Kappa Gamma.
When Kappa Kappa Gamma en
tertains at a 1 o'clock luncheon
Sunday, twenty-five mothers will
attend. Among them will be Mrs.
Ernest Kelley of Omaha; Mrs.
C. A. Souders of Auburn; Mrs.
Charles Kelley of Nebraska City;
Mrs. J. C. Thvgeson of Nebraska
City; Mrs. Edith Spadt of Crete;
Mrs. Herbert Clark of Columbus,
and the Mesdames Wilson and Wil
helm of Omaha.
Sigma Delta Tau.
Sigma Delta Tau will entertain
parents at tea from 2 until 5
o'clock Sunday. Thirty-five visi
tors are expected. Bernice Yousem
is in general charge. Justin Wolse
will speak.
Alpha Sigma Phi.
Alpha Sigma Phi is planning to
entertain its mothers at a 1 o'clock
dinner at the chapter house Sun
day. Neil McFarland is making
the arrangements for the affair.
The fraternity expects fifteen out-of-town
mothers to attend.
Alpha Tau Omega.
Alpha Tau Omega has made ar
rangements to entertain thirty
five mothers at dinner at the chap
ter house at 1:30 o'clock Sunday.
Glen Mace is in charge of the af
fair with the assistance of Frank

Theta Phi Alpha.
Theta Phi Alpha will also hold

Chi Phi.
Chi Phi is planning a 1:30 din
ner Sunday to which the whole
families have been invited. The
tables will be decorated with
spring flowers. Jack Potter is in
charge of the arrangements.
Beta Theta Pi.
Thirty mothers of Beta Theta
Pi members will be honored at a
dinner at 1:30 o'clock at the chap
ter house. William Marsh is mak
ing the arrangements. Following
the dinner, the regular meeting of
the Mothers club will be held.
Delta Sigma Lambda.
Delta Sigma Lambda's mothers
dinner will begin at 1:15 o'clock
and will be followed by a program.
Forty mothers are expected to at
tend. Arrangements are in charge
of Harold Twiss.
Delta Tau Delta.
Twenty-five mothers will attend
the banquet at the Delta Tau
Delta house Sunday at 1 :30 o'clock.
Out of town mothers who are ex
ported to Attend nre Mesdames

Howell, all of Omaha; Mrs. Mc
Caw of Colon, Mrs. Rosse of

Farm House.
When the Farm House enter
tains its mothers at a dinner Sun
day, the meal will be followed by
a program given by the members.
Pi Beta Phi.
A parents dinner at 1:15 o'clock
Mother's day is being planned by
Pi Eeta Phi. Tables will be dec
orated in spring flowers. Invita
tions have been issued to all par
ents and many from out of town
are expected to attend. Eva Mae
Livermore is in charge of the ar
rangements. Kappa Delta.
Kappa Delta will also entertain
parents of its members at a 1
o'clock dinner on the same day.
Tau Kappa Epsilon.
Bruce Nicoll is in charge of ar
rangements for the Teke Mother's
Day dinner, to be at 1 o'clock. Mrs.
Raymond Bixby, housemother, has
issued invitations and they are ex
pecting thirty-five mothers of
chapter members.
Kappa Alpha Theta.
Entertainment will follow a one
o'clock dinner at the Theta house.
Marian Fleetwood, chapter presi
dent will act as toastmistress
when about forty mothers will be
entertained there Sunday. Dorothy
Lee Collins is in charge of the ar
rangements. Sigma Phi Epsilon.
About forty mothers are ex
pected to be present at the Sig Ep
house Sunday. Bob Bensen. in
charge of plans, has arranged for
a one o'clock dinner honoring the
mothers of that fraternity.
Sigma Nu.
Mothers of twenty-five Sigma
Nus will be guests Sunday at the
local chapter house. Dinner will be
served for the active members and
their mothers at 1 o'clock. Among
the out of town mothers who will
attend are Mrs. A. B. Wilson, Ne
braska City; Mrs. F. Nicklas,
Syracuse; Mri. W. M. Plimpton,
Glenwood, la.; Mrs. M. Emmert,
