Teachers Hoax 'Kidnapings Cause Authorities Ask for AW Laus SAN FRANCISCO. (CNS). Hoax "kidnapings" at the Uni versity of California and Stanford university this week caused au thorities to move to expand the scope of existing laws to include adequate punishment for such cases. Officials said they would seek to have a law enacted, making hoax "kidnapings" a crime punishable as an "act against the public safety." The latest escapade which miffed state and local officials was the purpoited kidnaping of Eleanor Harris, queen ot Stan ford's annual masque ball, who as sertedly was abducted from in front of her sorority house anl held prisoner for several hours, being released in time to attend the ball. Similar occuriences in Berkeley have caused officials to agree that a constant repetition of such "kid napings" would cause the public to take genuine abductiona less seriously.
