Officers of the Green Togas are headed by Beverly Finkle Delta fnsilon, as president; Charles Klansburg, Alpha Tau Omega, vice president, and Harry Rudolph, Beta Theta Pi, secretary. Before the upheaval out of which the Green Togas came, the old factional alignments had twen-tv-four houses in the Blue Shirt ranks, and fourteen Yellow Jack et fraternities were coalesced with Barbs. Last week, however, Barbs broke awav from their Yellow Jacket cohorts and filed candi dates of their own. As the factions stood before the split, Blue Shirt houses were: Bine Shirt . REDUCTION IN NUMBER Unaware of the organization of a third political party with in the two present fraternity tactions, the two older groups, the Yollowjackcts and the Blueshirts, yesterday announced their candidates for the senior and junior class presidencies, to he chosen at. the election Tuesday. The names of ninety-four fel lows, scholars, and graduate assist ants at the University of Nebras ka for the current school year were announced Saturday by the chancellor's office. The list repre sents a considerable reduction from last year when there were 117 such fellows, scholars, and as sistants. It was explained that these peo ple are for the most part graduate students taking advanced work and assisting in instructional or research work at the same time. In addition to the filings for the class presidencies, three senior girls announced their intention of entering the race for honorary col onel. The identity of the winning girl will not be revealed until the night of the military ball, Dec. 8. The three girls who filed for honorary colonel are Anne Bunt ing, Alice Geddes, and Rosalie La'mme. -Miss Bunting is a member of Pi Beta Phi and vice president of Mortar Boards as well as presi dent of the Tassels. Dr. Hattie Plum Williams and Gene Huse. Miss Edith Abbott, a former Nebraskan, spoke on "Social Work Today." She advocated the elimi nation of antiquated state laws throwing the burden of welfare work upon local communities and a unified social work program supported by federal funds. Miss Esther Powell, case worker instructor at the university, spoke at the late afternoon session on the responsibility of the private welfare agency. Dr. J. O. Hertz ler presided.
