The 135 piece R. O. T. C. band,
bedecked in their new uniforms
made outstanding by the added
West Point white cross belts and
scarlet and cream pompons atop
their caps, will play during the aft
ernoon under the direction of W. T,
"Billie" Quick.
Closing the compete activities
will be the regimental parade in
honor of the Honorary Colonel,
Miss Jane Axtell, and the twenty
sponsors. The part.de will take
place at 4 o'clo-'; on Memorial
mall. Bleachers are being erected
for spectators and the public is in
vited. As evidence of outstanding per
formance of the R. O. T. C. unit
during the past year, Maj. Gen.
Johnson Hagood, United States
army, wrote Chancellor Burnett
following the recent R. O. T. C.
inspection:
"It gives me great pleasure to
inform 'you that upon conclusion
of the recent annual inspection of
the Reserve Officers' Training
corps at your university, the ad
ministration and training were
rated excellent
"The following remarks, extrac
ted from the report of the training
inspector, will, I believe, be grati
fying to you:
" 'This is a very fine unit and
the courtesy, discipline, and atti
tude of the student personnel was
especially to be commended'."
N CLUB.
There will be an N Club meeting
Thursday night at 7:30 in the N
Club room. Initiation of new
members will take place as well
as election of officers. Plans for
the picnic will be made.
