TEAM AFTER LAYOFF
Sauer at Center Post While
Kansan Is Out With an
Ankle Injury.
Walt Henrion, whose ankle in
Jury nad forced him to take things
easy in previous workouts this
week was an active participant in
Wednesday's drill. He was at cen
ter on a combination that found
Hub Bos well and Bud Parsons at
forwards, Steve Hokuf and George
Sauer at guards.
The varsity exhibited a fine
floor game and good shooting in
the session, lining up against the
frosh first in a drill on fundamen
tals which was later topped off
with two fifteen-minute scrim
mage oeriods. George Sauer re
placed Henrion at center at the
start of the second scrimmage,
with Paul Mason and Bob Belka
alternating at his vacated guard
position.
Belka. Crete sophomore, has
been improving at a rapid pace,
and it is expected that he will see
action against Iowa State, when
the Cyclones come to Lincoln Jan
30 for the first game of the second
semester. The squad is idle both
this week and next on account of
semester examinations.

PRESS
by Joe Miller
Again I bid goodbye in this col
umn, but this time it is iinai ana
complete. It nas given me no end
of pleasure in writing the "Press
box" and editing the sports page
of the Daily Nebraskan. I hope you
have enjoyed it.
Although a serious drop in ad
vertising revenue forced the Xe-
b ra.sk an to reduce the paper in
size, the sports staff has attempted
to cover adequately all athietic
news on the campus. Stories were
tled down" and cut to about
half their former length in order
that they might be included.
A brief glance at the athletic
outlook reveals that the Huskers
should be in the field next fall with
another fine team, perhaps better
than the eleven that carried Ne
braska to a second successive Big
Six football championship. The
basketball quintet is now clicking
on all cylinders and under as able
a coach as W. Harold Browne, me
school is certain to enjoy fine cage
teams. Coach Scbulte has such
capable cinder performers as Heye
Lambertus. Don liray. jerry ir,
Steve Hokuf, Roger Bevard and
