HOKUF STARS IN DRILL Crete Veterans Snags Passes With Aid Time Form in Thursday Session. Steve Hokuf 'a great pass snatch lng was the bright spot of Thurs day'a varsity drill as the Huskers began to taper off for the annual mix with the freshmen Saturday afternoon at Memorial stadium. Game time has been set for o'clock, with the twenty-five cent admission going to the band, Still emphasizing the passing came. Coach Bible instructed his backs to speed up their flips until they were getting them off in a hurry. Hokuf grabbed the pigskin from opponents more than once to complete some forty yard aerials from Masterson and Sauer, while Kilbourne and Boswell stretched out to haul in several difficult catches. In fact, the passing gen erally showed improvement, which may mean that Nebraska will have an overhead offensive to combine with the customary power plays this fall. Dummy scrimmage on new plays, group work and blocking occupied the rest of the practice period. .' Friday's workout will be light, consisting of limbering up exercises, signal drill, punting and passing. New uniforms will be displayed by the 125 piece university band for the game Saturday. A down town parade at 11 o'clock has been scheduled to wrok up inter est in the game, proceeds of which go into a fund to send the band to on several trips this fall. The department of architecture has been donated the plaster mod els of the figures that adorn the buttresses of the Nebraska State Capitol tower. The models which have been placed in the top floor of the former museum and the basement of University hall, ac cording to Prof. H. F. Cunning ham, are being set up in order to give the architecture students a chance to study them. "Through the courtesy of Mr. William L. Younkin, supervising architect of the Nebraska capitol the department has just acquired the plaster models of Lee Lawrie's figures that decorate the buttress es of the capitol tower," said Mr. Cunningham. "The department had already grown this semester. beyond the registration or last year, and the addition ol tnese eight "Old Artists" and two small er, newer ones, not to mention va- vious column capitals and cornice models, has filled the top floor of the former museum and the base ment of the University hall, so full of architects and other artists dead and alive, that an overflow onto the campus seems to be immi nent. "The principal models or casts are those of Pentaour, the old Egyptian poet; Socrates, the Greek artist and philosopher; Eze klel, the Hebrew prophet; Saint John, the Christian poet; Marcus Aurelius, the Roman philosopher; Louis IX, the Christian king, knight and saint; Newton, the mathematician and philosopher, and Abraham Lincoln, the Ameri can philosopher and president," he asserted, "also the two figures of American Indians, the Counselor and the Scoit, from the new sen ate chamber are included in this group of 'Old Artists' who have joined the 'Young Architects' in the university."
