Freshman Activities
Group Holds Meeting
The freshman activi'es group of
the A. V. S. board mot in Ellen
Smith hall at 4 o'clock Monday
afternoon. Margaret Upson ex
plained the details or registration
and announced that at the next
meeting Berniece Hoffman, presi
dent on the board was to be pres
ent.
By Jane Boos.
Snow! Snow! More snow! Stu
dents returning from holiday vaca
tious were greeted oy a campus
gseatly changed and dressed up by
a dazzling blanket of snow. Trues
formerly bleak and bare without
their foliage are now shadowed
with white, low snruos are so
completely covered as to look like
mounds of cotton. Pine trees once
desolate and forlorn against a grey
background are now draped in
lacy white. Dead grass and brown
ground are as completely hidden
as are the streets and sidewalks.
Last Wednesday and Thursday
brought this lovely decoration to
our cmpus. Accoring to T. A.
Blair of the United States Weather
Bureau it is the heaviest snow of
the season, having a maximum
depth of 6.9 inches and yielding a
percipitation of 1.62 incnes.
The snappy weather accompany
ing the snow seems to have re
newed vim and energy, it we may
judge by the actions of a certain
colleire "Ed" who stood on the
corner of 12th and R streets Mon
day noon and threw snowballs at
all passing unfortunates.
All in all snow seems to be the
thing of the hour.
