Iowa's First Chance at
Championship.
AMES, la. When Iowa State
meets the Cornhuskers Saturday

Veenker will be at freedom to use
any lineup he wishes, as not a
single man will be out on account

the schedule for the Cyclones as
they round into form for the final
contest and their opportunity to
win their first Big Six conference
football championship.
Ivan Impson, fullback, who suf
fered a. broken leg in the second
game of the season at Morning
side, has been taking light work
outs the past week and may see
action Saturday. Bauman, tackle,
who suffered a Eprained ankle in

shape for the Nebraska tilt accord
ing to Coach Veenker. Templeton,
200 pound wingman, who was un

Bulldog encounter on account of
knee injuries will also be in top
shape for the Nebraskans.
The week's drill program con
sists of scrimmages Tuesday and
Wednesday against Nebraska for
mations executed by freshman
teams. Coach Veenker is con
fronted with the problem of build
ing an attack against a much
heavier team. The Husker line
averages slightly heavier than
Iowa Stated, and the backfield Is
much heavier.
Between halves of the football
encounter the undefeated Cyclone
two-mile team will bid for its sec
ond consecutive Big Six confer
ence championship. The decisive
defeat of the Kansas Jayhawkers
last . Saturday renders the Iowa
State harriers a topheavy favor
ite to beat Coach "Indian"
Schulte's proteges since Kansas
downed the Huskers as decisively
earlier in the season. Lyle Chap
man, who was defeated for the
first time this season by Cunning
ham of Kansas last Saturday will
be forced to his best to beat Ayres
of Nebraska next Saturday, altho
