boost the number of sales. About
two hundred sales were reported
Tuesday.
Flans for the event are advanc
ing lapidly and a full program of
addresses, wrestling, boxing ana
music will furnish entertainment
for those present.. There will be
plenty of barbequed sandwiches
and other refreshments for every
one. Freshmen are urged to at'
tend the fete that they may be
come acquainted witli more of the
university students.

Nebraska should give the Okla
homa Sooners in a long, hard ait
ernoon Saturday if the spirit and
fight that was shown at the prac
tice Tuesday evening is any indi
cation. Not that the team is over
confident, but every man is on his
toes working hard against the
freshmen in preparation for the
game this week.
Passing, punting and running
plays were the order of the day,
Coach Bible drove the men hard,
the two teams alternating against
the first year men. One team was
composed of McPherson. center.
Adam and Justice, guards: Hul
bert and Holmbeck. tackles, with
Kilbourne and Nesmith. ends; with
a backfield made up of Masterson,
Boswell. Kreizinger and Sauer.
Durkee and Schmitt. ends; Gilbert
and Rhea, tackles; Koster and De
bus, guards; Ely, center and
Brown, Roby, Penney and Paul in
the backfield.
Coach Bible was using a combi
nation of Saucr passing to Ne
smith, Brown, Masterson and
Kreizinger. Varsity ends were also
sent down under punts, Nesmith.
Durkee. Petz and Kilbourne seeing
most of the action. Blocking, which
was sadly lacking in the North
western game, showed a vast im
provement last night, varsity
backs cutting down' their men and
allowing the safety to get a good
start on freshman kicks.
Wednesday will see the Corn
huskers in a tussle with Coach Ed
Weirs freshman team. The frosh
arc much better organized now
than they were when they met the
varsity last time and should put up
a good fight. The practice will be
open to the public, starting at 4
o'clock.
Oklahoma, fresh from their vic
tory over Rice, is sending a strong
team to meet Nebraska this week
end. Bill Panza is an exceptionally
fast back, and with a number of
strong sophomores in the lineup,
the Sooners are out to win.
The Sooners are scheduled to
arrive in Lincoln Friday and will
workout in Memorial stadium in
the afternoon. Chick Justice, vet
eran guard, will be game captain.

homa will be organized into a
league this week and play organ
ized games against each other for
the remainder of the season, it waa
announced today by Lawrence
"Jap" Haskell, ccach.
With the iirst game scheduled
for Thursday or Friday, Oct. 8
or 9. Haskell and his assistants
are now busy dividing freshmen
players up into three squads of
equal strength with a fourth to be
organized if enough players report.
Each team will be named for an
opponent cn the Sooners' 1931
schedule, and will use the forma
tions of these teams, procured by
the Oklahoma scouts. The plan
calls for one freshman eleven en
gaging the varsity in dummy
scrimmage' all week while the re
maining two freshmen teams,
using formations of varsity oppo
nent not to be met that week,
will p'ay a matched game against
each other.
For instance, this week end one
freshman team, using Nebraska
formations, will dummy scrimmage

have played, will be a serious loss
