Athletics: With the A. A. U. na tional track and Held champion ships on July 3 and 4, summer students will have an opportunity of witnessing some of the most spirited competition in the country. The best athletes from the various colleges and amateur organiza tions will take part in the meet. Student Opinion: Last year for the first time in the History 01 summer sessions, a student news paper was published under the su pervision of the university. The venture was most successful and The Nebraskan with this issue asain undertakes to convey to summer students news of campus activities, university announce ments and student opinion. A.c your newspaper, we hope that you will take an active interest in its publication. That the idea of a summer ses sion not as a separate school di vorced from all other university activity but part of the regular program outlined for the year is rapidly gaining recognition among members of the faculty and those attending the six or nine weeks period. During the past few years special effort has been made to point out to the students that at tendance at the summer session makes them as much a part of the student body of the University of Nebraska as if they had taken the same amount of work during- the winter. Social Activities: As there are practically no organized groups among the students during the summer, social activity received , little or no attention until last year when, under the supervision of Professor Lantz, picnics and Learn To Dance Will guaran tee to teach you to dance in six private lessons.
