It will appear twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Its purpose is evident. It will bring to student attention all offi cial announcements of the univer sity. It will include new accounts of all campus happenings through out nine weeks of summer school. It will publish feature stories which contain bits of intersting information concerning the school which 3.000 young men and women are attending this susnmer. Prom time to time it will chion Icle new. of other summer schools which will be of interest to Ne braskans. Its editorial column will contain comment on situations and happenings pertaining to the university of Nebraska specific ally to education generally, and to subjects of vital interest to young people. Because there are no organiza tions to bind summer students to gether, because there are no functions of a social nature which tend to promote any feeling of uni versity consciousness during the summer sessions, there is an ab sence of interest in the university, To stimulate that interest, to work for ways and means of bringing the students together, and to promote a feeling of friendliness among all summer attendants is this paper's purpose. If The Nebraskan is going to serve the students in this way however, it is imperative that it be supported by these students. Without student backing The Summer Nebraskan is a fruitless 'nterprise. While summer students are here primarily to study and to take advantage of the many facilities the university has available for them, they must be urged in addi tion to keep abreast of the news of the school they are attending. Young people who take away something of tangib'e or intangib'e value from a school like Nebraska must give back something in re turn, not in the form of money but in the shape of a keen regard for the welfare of that institution which has given them a needed intellectual boost.
