credit books to show that the fac
ulty had considered them a non
English speaking people.
Pledges were able to give rapid
answers to the industrial questions
of "If you are a gainful worker,
what is your occupation?" "In
what Industry are you employed?"
and "Are you an employer, em
ploye, or working on your own ac
count?" The general feeling was
that all were gainful workers In
some occupation, Just what they
were not sure. None admitted
working on their own account.
