Olympic team in the decathlon
event. Churchill also competed in

To Develop Champions. j
The decathlon is being main-
tained on the Kansas relays pro- j
gram with a view toward rlevel-
oping athletes from the middle
west, soutnwest. ana rar west lor
possible Olympic team competition
in 1932.
The decathlon will be run off on
two days, the first five events on
Friday afternoon, April IS, and
the second five events Saturday
morning, April 19.
The first five events of the de
cathlon include a 100 meters run,
running broad jump, 16 pound
sbot put, running high jump, and
400 meters run.
The final five events are tbe 110
meters high hurdles, discus throw,
pole vault, javelin throw, and
1.500 meters run.
Contestants in tbe decathlon, tbe
only ones who will have to be on
hand Friday, will be guests at a
buffalo meat barbecue and wild
west rodeo being staged in the
university stadium the night of
April 18.
