cheerleader for the coming year
Tuesday night at a meeting of the
Innocents society. He will make
his first appearance aa yell king at
the Nebraska-Southern Meih'dist
game Saturday.
George Mirkel. Omaha, and
Harold Benson. Randolph, are the
other two varsity yell leaders who
will Iry to bring out the true
Oombusker spirit at the football
and basketball games.
Taos selected to have charge of
the west slanda are Ed Brewster.
Beatrice; George Cook. Casper.
Wyo.; Robert Kincaid. Cheyenne.
Wyo.. and Ralph Rogers. Charters
and Benson both served formerly
a cheer leaders in the west stands
cf the Memorial stadium. All of
the varsity cheerleader will help
arouse enthusiasm at the rally Fri
day. Oct. 4. preceding th South
em Methodist game.
According to FJdred Larson,
president cf tbe Innocents society,
one more man will be added for
the west stands within the next
few days.
Cadets served as the audience
for the tryouta Monday afternoon.
Their hearty response served as a
great spur for the contestants. The
old locomotive yell was the big
favorite of the various candidates
in the tryouta. Fach man bad the
privilege of selecting any lo yeli
be wished and to deliver them in
any way he wished. Immediately
after tbe tryouta on the drill field
the candidates went to the stadium
where they underwent a voice test
with the megaphone.
There will be no further tryouts
for the remaining elate ooen. The
fifth man for the west stands wid
be chesen from those who made
the first tryouta.
