changed some of the rates for 1928.
The muffed punt and lateral pass
were ttie two items in the pig&kin
game1 that were affected. In a nut

the protection afforded the lateral
pass, to do away with the confusing
distinction between a muffed or
fumbled punt and dealed a blow to
tthe use of the so-called "screen

STELLAR MAT MAN
Captain of Oklahoma A. & M. Mat
Team Has Perfect Record
in Valley Bouts
Stillwater, Okla. Febrauary 7.
When George Rule, captain of the
Oklahoma A. and M. college wrestl
ing team, steps out on the mat with
an opposing grappler every Aggies
fan is morally certain that he will
win his match.
For in three years of intercolle
giate wrestling, Rule hus never lost
a varsity match. At present he
holds the Missouri Valley and nation
al titles in the 175 pound weight.
Consistent, steady and dependable,
Rule seldom take chances, being con
tent to win by a decision rather than
risk trying for a fall. He is es
pecially strong on arm lock holds
and he is unusually fast for a man
of his weight.
Rule suffered the biggest disap
pointment of his wrestling career
when an attack of boils prevented
him from competing in the Iowa
State meet last month. As it was,
Ames won the 175 pound weight and
went into the lead until McCready,
the heavyweight, won the next
match. Rude will have another op
portunity to meet an Iowa State man
in the Missouri Valley tournament
and in the tryouts for the Olympic!
team.
Rule's heme is at Orlando. He is
a senior in the School of Agriculture.
