Stuart Tract
The baseball diamonds on the
Stuart Tract have been secured for
the use of fraternity men until 6
o'clock each day, according to Jimmy
Lewis of the athletic department.
The fields are located at 33rd and Y
27th and A, and at the Muny Pool.
The old field at the College of Agri
culture is still open to the fraternity
men.
Fraternities should make reserva
tions for fields at the Athletic office.
If they do not make reservations, the
athletic department will assign them
for games. The games assigned that
are not played will be forfeited. The
frats are requested to rush the games
along so that the final games may be
played as a feature of the Eound-
Up on Friday, May 27.
The four diamonds have backstops
and ample fielding space. It is
hoped they will be finished by Mon
day. Herb Gish has been busy for
a couple of days purchasing equip
ment. Baseballs, masks, bats, pro
tectors, and bases for the games will
be checked out. The Athletic de
partment announces they have every
thing but batting averages. A deposit
of one dollar will be required for
each baseball taken out. The depart
ment will trust the men for the rest
of the furnishings, according to the
athletic authorities.

liSTEN lAMES
It's been a long time since I talked
to you, but I've been on the job just
the same. Looking for clever styles
and clever places, and now I'm back
with about two weeks shopping ad
ventures to tell you about.
Whew!!! Hot???
I Should Say It Is!
Summer has descended with
out warning. Suits are a" im
possibility and the mention of
coats high crime.
Take my advice don't wait
another day to send the sum
mer togs to Evan's.
Dresses look a bit forlorn?
Let Evan's refresh them.
Hats! You may go bare head
ed on the campus but there
conies an occasion where a bat
as is a hat is a necessity. If you
send last summer's felt or straw
to Evan's you may recognize it
when it returns but your best
friend won't.
Gloves and shoes, too. When
Evan's have finished that best
friend will think you've been on
an elaborate shopping expedition.
Sarah Got The
Cutest Shoes!
Sarah got the cutest I. Miller
shoes the other day down at
Speier's you know. Graceful one
strap slippers that really fit at
the heel, at the arch, and in the
ball of the foot for I Miller
shoes are carefully constructed
to fit her foot and YOUR foot
with snug smartness.
Slippers like these are the
perfect accessory for the after
noon frock a distinctive nov
elty that modern femininity de
mands. And then when you have pur
chased your shoes for of
course you are going to follow
Sarah's example stop to match
them with I. Miller hosiery. I.
Miller Beautiful Hosiery the
kind you want to wear because
it wears so long. New spring
shades. At Speier's.
After The Rain
Comes Sunshine
So get ou tthe faithful kodak
this week end. Snapshots of the
crowd will make many a hot
summer afternoon pass more
quickly because they are a re
cord of good times during the
good old college days.
Mother and dad, too, will
want o know what fellow you
go with and what the girl you
pal with looks like. So get out
the kodak and the treat the
folks back home.
And after you have finished
the film don't forgot to take it
in to the Sugar Bowl to be de
veloped. 1552 O street surely
you know Walter Johnson's
Sugar Bowl! We always take
our films there it is so conven
ient to leave them on the way to.
a show.
The Picnic Basket
And The College Ford
And lazy spring days! Don't
they belong together? We had
the Ford such as it was and
goodness knows lazy spring
Sundays are plentiful enough.
But my kingdom for a picnic
basket!
At home mother could scram
ble together the most scrump
tious lunch whlie we were get
ting gas and water, but now
mother is miles away and spring
days wait for no woman.
But college folks have a
friend indeed to help 'them out
in time of need. The IDYL
HOlfR, on .thirty minutes no
tice, will collect for you just
such a lunch for instance
with steaks ready to fry.
So we called the Idyl Hour.
Why don't you?
Every Day Is
Mother's Day
But Next Sunday is her very
own day so You and I, so far
away from home must find a
way to let her know how much
we are thinking of HER every
day.
Wonder bow? Just walk past
Cieorge Bros, and in the window
you 11 see a few of the things
unusual things that they have
picked out as especially appro
priate for you to give YOUR
mother.
Perhaps a strinr cf jade or
amber or carved beads would
effectively fill tha bill?
Or a refreshment basket and
glasses now that the summer
days are coming on, oh, so
swiftly?
Or personal stationery that 5s
dividuahty.
Whatever you want of gifts
or cards you'ii find it at Geor;
