Meet Stiff Competition
Captain Bobby Stephens, Krause,
Hurd, Dailey, Davenport, Tappan,
Johnson, and Wirsig will b the Ne
braska contestants at Illinois. Cap
tain Stephens will run in the 75-yard
dash and compete in the broad jump.
Hurd will heave the shot. Krause will
run in both 75-yard high and low
hurdles. He will have to compete with
some of the outstanding hurdlers of
the country Saturday. Wirsig, rap
idly recovering from the tonsilitis
which kept him out of the opening
meets of the season, will compete for
the first time this season. He will
face a string of crack valley and
Big Ten pole vaulters.
Glen Johnson is scheduled to take
a whack at the 1000 meter run Sat
urday. Frank Dailey will run the 300
yards. Both will double back in the
mile relay with Davenport and Tap
pan, completing the team. Dailey re
places Campbell, who ran in the mile
relay at Kansas City, oti account of
the necessity of cutting down the
size of the squad.
Return Saturday Erening
The Huskers will return late Sat
urday evening with a few days of
hard work before them before they
face the Kaggies on the stadium in

been a shining guard all season and
in the last seven games has been
keeping the opposing forwards tak

G?relick will be the other cog of the
guard post and is not far behind An

the ball to the Nebraska forwards.
Gerelick has been the Husker long-
shot man all season and has managed
to count from the field in every
game.

the hands of Charlie Black's Ne
braska basketeers and are coming to
Lincoln to even the count with the

Youth had its flinir attain when the
Sopohomores tallied twenty-six points
in the fourth game of the women's
basketball tournament Thursday
afternoon as. the Seniors were chalk
ing up a meager Seventeen to their
credit. The first half of the game was
a basket stuffing relay between
Bcrgstrasser, lanky Sophomore goal
ster and West, Senior forward. The

quarter showed a one-point lead for
the Senior women. The Sophomores

out-scored their ciders, upsetting all
pre-gamc forecasts.
