WANTED: At Townsend's Stu oid, Fifty Comhuskers a day to sit for their photographs. Dear Diary: such a gay week! All of our teaching alums have been back of course, and I was delegated to see that they had a big time! Thought I was going to be a total loss on the job at first, knowing nothing whatever, of the Binet Simon tests or the new stuff in child discipline. Luckily however, I discov ered that they were lots more interested in THEIR feet than in MY head, so all was well. I escorted six of them to Ben Simon & Sons shoe department, and they simply went buying-mad over the new novelty slippers. (Lota of them were only $5.85 too). What a nifty peda gogical step those sisters of mine are going to walk, back in the old school town! B. Long, B. S., '17, and P. M. McCullough, electrical, ''17,' and Mr. Gray. While here the visitors discussed what they could do to help the College of Engineering to put into more advantageous use the arti ficial 200-mile transmission line that the Northwestern Bell companies have placed in the University electri cal laboratories. The apparatus is valuable from the point of view of cost as well as from the standpoint of the manifold possibilities for experimetation in the laboratories. It is an oscillation current generator which will gener ate alternating currents of all fre quencies from 100 to 60,000 oscilla tions per second. To give an idea of the tremendous possibilities which this generator presents, one needs to only compare it with the speech range on the telephone circuit. The range on that is from 20 or 300 to 1200 oscillations per second and the whole of it will be included in the range of the new generator besides including all frequencies up to 50, 000 oscillations per second. Mr. Long i3 an educational director for the Bell Telephone laboratories, Inc., in New York City. Mr. McCul lough is a division plant engineer of the Northwestern Bell Telephone company of Omaha. Mr. Gray also holds' a position with this company. Doran Will Speak at Banquet O. T.
