THANKFUL.
Football and turkey dinners will
probably take most of the time on
this Thanksgiving day, but most of
us are in the habit of soothing our
consciences, on Thanksgiving day,
with a few minutes of recalling that
for which we are thankful.
University students are thankful,
in general, for the present opportun
ity for training. Freshmen are
thankful they have come past mid
semester. Sophomores are thankful
they are no longer freshmen. Jun
iors are thankful for the new ideas
they are beginning to have. Seniors
are thankful that, having surmount
ed most of the difficulties of the
undergraduate years, they are in
sight of a degree.
University of Nebraska students
are thankful for a successful foot
ball season, most of them say on first
thought. But they are always thank
ful for the more permanent bless
ings of the University.
Although some of the buildings
are shaky with age, yet the Nebraska
campus is more beautiful and exten
sive than the campuses of many
prominent universities in America.
Although the equipment for instruc
tion is not in all cases the best, it is
excellent And Nebraska stands high
in the educational world in the most
important item of all faculty staff.
Twenty Years Ago
Nebraska signaled her entrance
into the cross-country field by win
ning the run held in Chicago Thanks
giving by the Intercollegiate Cross
country Association. Teams repre
senting Northwestern, Minnesota,
Wisconsin, and Purdue were expect
ed, but at the last minute they failed
to appear so that the Tun was be
tween Nebraska and the University
of Chicago. Havens, who came with
in six inches of first, won by a Ne
braska man, lost his shoe before the
run was half over, but ran the rest
of the distance without it. Hauser,
who finished sixth, had been troubled
by his eyes for some time and when
but a short distance for the finish,

WELL GROOMED men prefer extra trousers
with their Suits that gives them the satis
faction of knowing that there is an extra
pair for that extra occasion then, too, there's
DOUBLE WEAR. The Suits we are featuring here
at these prices with an extra pair of trousers are un
usually hard to secure at the same price WITHOUT
the extra trousers nothing new about the two-trouser-suit
idea; but when you get an extra Pair of
trousers with a suit for the price of the Suit alone
that's going some.
