The combined efforts of Harry Reed, boxing instructor, and Fred Dawson, director of athletics, have obtained from the officials authority to send a squad of mitten-slingers to repre sent the university at the Amateur Athletic Union meet in Omaha April 8th. t Instructor Reed has been trying for three years to gain permission to start a boxing team to represent the University. While the permit to take some men to the meet at Omaha does not give him the power to install a varsity boxing squad, Reed feels that it is a good sign that the author ities are not very strongly opposed to such an innovation. "Boxing is going to come into its own at Ne braska," he said, "It is the greatest sport in the world, bar none, and it will not be long before we shall see a varsity boxing squad in action."
