Regarding his wardrobe, Eltinge says: "If a statistician were to get busy and figure out the amount of cloth used in my sixty-six gowns, he would find thatjthere were 2t yards, 2178 feet, and 26,136 inches to them. Add to that forty-nine hats, each of them holding from two to five yards of material, not counting the flowers and plumage, ard thirty-eight pairs of slippers, and I csk any man in the audience' how he would like the job of providing him self with feminine fripperies, and I venture to say that if I weren't care ful, but let myself go, that by. the end of a season I would be broke. "As a matter of fact, I cannot say that I blame the women for want ing to marry men with money, when one considers the price of their ap-j parel. On the other hand, I cannot blame men for hesitating about mar rying when they get wise to the cost of women's clothing, and I feel sure that many a man is a bachelor today because he did not have the courage to face the bi'.'s." Mr. Eltir.fce's wardrobe ha-, been especially m-l.j for this tour, and contains the last word in feminine modes, constityting a fashion show in itself. COMPLETE PLAN FOR SINGLE TAX (Continued from page 1) which shall be called whenever the Student Council is so petitioned by at least 100 qualified student voters of the University of Nebraska. It is agreed by each of the under signed that the management of each activity definitely sharing in the proceeds of this agreement will give all their regular campaign efforts to the united campaign for the single tax ticket, and will so render this part of the agreement under the direction of the controlling board. The con trolling board shall determine the manner and means for the conduct ing of the united campaign for the single tax. This agreement shall operate only for one year except as it is renewed upon new or amended terms as agreed to by all parties to this agree ment, including the Student Council. For any person who is a certified member of one or more of the al loted activities included in the single tax a refund from the fund of such activity may be made to them upon certification of the controlling coach or faculty supervisor as to such mem bership in the activity. The following reasons were given by he council in support of the plan chosen : The saving to 2500 students is es timated to be $1.05 to' $4.50 each. The enactment of the tax would mean the abolition of all drives or campaigns from the campus with the exception of the single tax campaign itself. The time saved to the people re quired to work on the different cam paigns is estimated from four to six days each semester. This is a voluntary combination ticket to be sold by the combined activities and is not compulsory but would be sold as any single activity ticket or receipt is now sold but en titling each person to the benefits of the price reduction, whereas the gen eral rate of all the activities included will be at least 50 per cent greater to all those buying individual tickets to each activity included in the com bination.
