Three Husker basketball men
placed among the high twenty for
wards in the Missouri Valley Con-
ference individual scoring for the
1924 season. A compilation made by
the Lincoln Star shows Goodson leads
Nebraska with 96 points, placing
twelfth in the Valley. Cozier was
next with 87 points in fourteenth po
sition, and Usher held the twentieth
notch with. 71 points to his credit for
the season.
Bcnz of Grinnell was high man
in the conference. He made 152
points. Boelter, Drake, forward
who figured in two Drake victories
over Nebraska, was second with 148
points. McBrfide, Oklahoma placed
third with 146.
Benz made the greatest number
of free throws during the season.
Out of 100 chances he lodged seventy-six
in the hoop. .
Tipton oi iNeoraska was thirty-first
in the Valley with 48 points. Black,
with 36 points was thirty-fourth and
Volz, captain-elect, with 28 points
placed thirty-seventh.
The Drake victory over Ames last
Saturday put the Bulldogs into a tie
for fourth place with Washington
and Kansas Aggies. All three made
.500 per cent for the Beason, with
eight victories and eight defeats each.
Ames retained its secure hold on
the cellar with a season record of
two victories and fourteen defeats,
and a percentage of .125.
The standing of the three high
teams was Kansas .938, Oklahoma
.813, and Nebraska .625.

Prof. I. B. Tuckerman, professor
of physics at the University of Ne
braska from 1906 to 1916 was
one of the members of the
committee which passed on the
safety of hte battleship Shehandoah
before she made her first voyage.
He has just been given a government
appropriation of $10,000 and a 8
year commission to study the struc
tural points of the Shenandoah with
a view to their futher use. He is
connected with the Bureau of Stand
ards of Washington.
