The student will do well to consider the faculty when choosing his courses. There are many great men and women numbered among the professors of the University. The education gained by contact with these leaders is vorth double the book learning gained from most studies. Have week! youT picture taken this P.y defeating the Missouri quintet 24 to 18 Nebraska's basketball team opened the 1924 cage season with a well-earned victory, which augurs well for the tluskers during the com ing season. Lacking veterans, Coach Kline has nevertheless developed a frst cage team which will hold high the banner of the Scarlet and Cream in valley athletics. If the Huskers continue with the same brand of basketball played last evening it is possible that the Huskers will come through the season with a record Tecord of the grid team. For a successful cage year, how ever, the unflinching and undivided support of the student body is nec essary. The Armory must "be filled to overflowing at every game if Ne braska is to win. With a fighting, cheering united indent body at all contests, the Cornhusker tossers can not and will not lose a game. Let us back the cage team as we do the grid team, and Nebraska will rise to the same valey championship position in basketball that she al ready bolds in football. Nebraska needs a new gymnasium.
