Nebraska's Grid Album
Verne C. Lewellen is captain of
the 1923 Cornhuskers. Lew was a
four letter man at Lincoln high
school, his main sport football. He
played end and quarterback on the
Lincoln high team for four years.
He was captain the last year. Lew
has made two letters in baseball and
two in football. He played halfback
the first two years on the varsity but
this year is back at the quarterback
position. He is a member of Sigma
Phi Epsilon and Innocents. He is
taking a law course. His home is
in Lincoln.
