All officers under the class presi
dents were elected yesterday. The
classes discussed their various prob
lems and tried to evolve satisfactory
solutions.
Lack of co-operation, unity, and
interest has molded all classes into
one big unit with scarcely a dividing
line between any of them. It is
probable that there will never be a
time when classes will work as units.
However there is work for the indi
vidual classes and that work could
well be done.

COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY.
When the parade ended in the sta
dium Saturday morning, the colleges
still maintained their formation to
some extent, and continued to give
their yells.
A few moments before the Chan
cellor gave his introductory address,
some of the colleges were still letting
the world know that they were there
at the dedication either to represent
their college or the institution.
A few Nebraska yells given with as
much enthusiasm as the college yells
would have been much more appro
priate. It was certainly with a good meas
ure of foresight and wisdom that
the University athletic department
refused to allow the colleges to di
vide themselves into separate sections
of the stadium. It is with a great '
measure of difficulty that the stu
dents can be brought together in a
yell now and further disunion would
have been rather disastrous.
College yells are not proper where ,
the whole University is represented j
at any one event. There are plenty I
of University yells that would be just I
as good for the purpose and better j
as far as the University of Nebraska
is concerned. I

WE CAN LEARN.
K. U. came here as a guest last
week and left some impressions that
certainly are a credit to Kansas. The
Jayhawkers were the most fair and
generous guests that the present stu
dent body has ever seen on the Ne
braska field. At every instant, Kan
sas was alive and fighting with her
team. The Jayhawkers entered the
game with odds against them, but
you could have never told it from the
poise that arose from the K. U.
stands.
There are teams coming here this
fall that will enter the games as the
favorite. If Nebraska students can
deliver like Kansas students did,
there will certainly be better battles
won and better battles lost as the
case might be.
