Student tickets go on sale tomor row. That means that every stu dent is expected to buy a pass which admits him to every athletic event to be held on the Nebraska field. This is a single tax that molds all the drives into one. It eliminated extra expense, enabling the sale of season tickets at a very low price. There are hundreds of selling points for the tickets. Support of Nebraska is the biggest one. Your own enjoyment is another. WE NEED PRESIDENTS. You are going to the polls today to vote at least you are expected to do so. Are you going to vote for some one because he is on your side of the political fence? We do not like to admit it but there are politics. A de cisive stroke was given the upstarts on the campus two years ago and all was destroyed save the memories of the hectic campaigns. Today the elections are quiet. But there are powerful votes being cast in units of one. Your vote is a pow erful one. So is your neighbors. Vote for the president who will either get his class out of debt if it is in fir keep it out if it is on the level. Two classes, the juniors and seniors are now deeply in debt. A class officer of real ability will straighten these affairs out and see to it that the class pays its debts. That is one of your duties at the polls. The only reason for the sen iors of being more' than a hundred dollars in debt is because there has been uninterested officers elected in the past. It is the same with the juniors. Examples like these are not conductive to good class organiza tion or it is the result of the lack of it. HISTORY REPEATS. Football critics all over America have taken note of the Illinois-Ne braska game Saturday. The re marks made by those veterans of the pens, gridirons, and rules do not cast a bit of reflection upon the Nebraska team. Nebraska is not lokoing for solace. Nebraska played the game and lost. There was no means of comparison between the two teams. It took a defeat last year to beat Notre Dame. It took a defeat to beat Pitt. If this defeat beats Syra cuse, Notre Dame and the Kansas Aggies, Nebraska will have profited That is the point that sport writers are stressing. They expect and we hope for a repetition of the years gone by. Every Nebraskan should get ready for that Oklahoma game now. The southerners have a brand of foot ball that is dangerous but Nebraska intends to win. There is no over confidence in the Husker camp. There is determination. SMOKING ON CAMPUS. Smoking on the University of Ne braska campus has long been con sidered a nuisance and a detriment. Organizations do not favor smoking withjn the confines of the campus and request that students refrain from carrying the cigarets and live ashes to the doors of the buildings. Before the famous old iron fence was removed, the gates used to be the depository for all remains of the good old smoke, but now the shad ows of the doors must be the hint. Nobody cares to see students smok ing any place, much less on the cam pus. Keep your cigarets in your pocket while within the limits of Nebraska's campus- . The Daily Nebraskan likes to get tips, news, and contributions, but those persons who want publicity for themselves and their organizations, and nothing but publicity are sheer nuisances around this office.- Be genuine in your efforts and your etories will show it. Merely Opinion Oklahoma will be here Saturday. Benny Owen'a Sooners are import ant contenders for the Missouri Val ley title. A hundred rer cent dis play of spirit will help Nebraska whip the southerners. The turnout to meet the team at the station Sunday was an excellent ahowinfj, Nearly as many were tnere tn crppr. the team unon its return as there were to give it a send-off. The team may bo beaten but never the spirit. Presidents of all the classes and persons to fill vacancies' in the Stu dent Council will be elected today. All the offices are important to to school activities. You should be able to vote intelligently. Notices W. A. A. Meeting. W. A. A. nominating committee meeting Tuesday at 12:00. Catholic Students. Oh, there's grandeur in the study of oldGreek, And there's rapture too, in music (twice a week). " But the grandeur's put to route when the H2S gets out, Or the CI generator strikes a leak. Mathematics hath its charms, we must confess, Physics, too, the students never cease to bless; But their charms are put to flight When phosphorous gets alight On a fellow's fingers or a brand new dress. Yes, the sciences are pleasant in the main. And their study helps to cultivate the brain; But there's no logic or reason can explain away the treason Done to nature by the valences, that's plain.
