IX THE COLLEGE WORLD.
"Don't send me posies" is the cry of
the University of Oregon Pan-Hel
lenic Council, and the campus is agag
whether or not the Oregonian means
to follow it uu with a plea for
shosies is not laid bare, but the wo
men say that the men are put to an
unnecessary expense, and that the
nrevailine styles do notf avor corsag
es anyhow. The opposition plays up
the thrill which comes only from open
ing a box of flowers, and say that the
nosegays add a touch of color to the
most drab party. No settlement has
been made, but the men are dumbly
hopeful.

A new fad and by the way, this
one won't touch that worn pocket
book of the Minute Men of the style
world is popular in the western
schools. As was previously mentioned,
the cost will be especially slight for
those who wear the bell buttoned
corduroy trousers. In fact, it will be
a savings to some, for already the
first possessors of these unique ar
ticles f wearing apparel, are laying
them aside.
By merely whitewashing the cord
uroys, each will have a pair of the
new fangled "memo book" pants.
Friends inscribe their names in un
fading ink and soon the popular per
sons will have enough signatures to
cover the entire trouser leg. And to
.rw jip idpa of the "memo
book," they mill probably 6tart past
ing dancing programs and such on
the corduroys. Then when school
days are over and these persons be
gin to settle down, why wouldn't It
be all right to tack the '-ousers over
the fireplace in their dens to bring
back reminiscenses of K. S. A. C.
