At a late hour lust night the
day's results in the inter-fraternity
meet hnd not been completely tabu
lated, although it was unofficially
determined that the Delta Taus and
the Acacias were running a close
race for the lead, with the Alpha
Sign in third place, about 500 points
behind. Chick Hartley of the Phi
Delts set a new record in individual
performances for the meet when he
threw the javelin 162 feet, 5 inches,
for a total of 1,036 points. The
Acacias made the high score Sat
urday, rolling up a total of 2,792
points. The Alpha Tau Omega ath
letes were second in the point total
on Saturday, making 2,450 count
ers. Ed Weir of the Acacias was
first in the high hurdles, clearing
the sticks in seven seconds for 940
points.
Nebraska Squad Fails to Hold
Lead in Final Events
Phillips Scores Eight
Points.
The Nebraska mermen were de
feated by a score of 38 to 21 in a dual
meet with Kansas Aggies Thursday
afternoon in the Nicholas gymnasium
at Manhattan.
The Kansas swimmers took fir.it
place in four out of six events but the
Huskers managed to cop enough of
the second and third honors to hold
an advantage until the final events.
Phillips, last year's captain, led the
Nebraska scoring column with a credit
of 8 points, taking first place in the
fancy diving and second in the forty
yard back-stroke.
Captain Jacki Gaebring- won the
first place for the Husker mermen
when he took the forty-yard breast-
stroke in 34 2-5 seconds. Gaebring
left the rest of the competition well
in the rear in this race showing re
markable form.
Dilts and Captain Colbum took the
high scoring honors of the meet for
the Aggies with a total of 10 and 9

Disciples Club Will
Hold Annual Banquet
on Tuesday Evening
The Disciples Club 's semester ban
quet for the students and parents of
students who belong to the Church of
Christ will be held at the First Chris
tian Church, Tuesday evening, from 6
to 8 o'clock. Dr. George A. Miller
will speak on thes ubject of student
ideals. .
Dr. Miller SDoke to the members of
the Lincoln Commercial Club on Lin
coln's birthday. He recently became
the pastor of the First Christian
Church, of Omaha, after serving six
teen years in Washington, D. C.

Kansas Students
Form Campus Club
Kansas students organized the
"Kansas Club" at a meeting Wednes
day evening in Social Science 101. Of
ficers elected were:

Adalia Backman, Manhattan, vice
president.
Bessie Reeves, Atwood, secretary.
John C. Macy, Emporia, treasurer.
Ross'K. Sable, Sabetha, sergeant-at-

Officers were given power to create
committees and take all necessary
steps toward perfecting the organiza
tion. The business meeting was held
following an informal Introduction of
the students to one another. The club
was organized to provide social meet
ings to enable the students from Kan
sas to become better acquainted with
one another, members said.
