SECOND ANNUAL FROSH VALLEY IEEM5 TODAY Telegraphic Track and Field Meet For First Year Men This Afternoon STRONG COMPETITION FOR NEBRASKA TEAM Plan Was Originated By Coach "Indian" Schulte Last Spring Many Entries The Missouri Valley freshman tele graphic nioet will be hold this after noon on Nebraska field. Tho program of events in which all freshman trnck sters will compete will start at three o'clock wiih Track Torch Schulte in charge. This competition will be held at all the other valley colleges this afternoon and the results of each in stitution's meet will be telegraphed to all the other schools. The plan of the freshman telegraph ic meet was originated by Coach Schulte as a part of the bin drive to put the valley, and particularly Ne braska, on the map in the track world. The first annual meet was held last year and was won by the Nebraska freshmen, the class of 1 The large squad of freshmen track candidates, who have been strenuous ly working throughout the entire track season, will have their first real chance to display their wares tomor row. The yearlings have been play ing a big part in the intra-mural meet and are in fine shape for the fresh man meet. Many Contestants In the dashes the freshmen have a wealth of good material. Keith Lloyd, "Tex" Nowlin, Trexler and ('rites are expected to make fast time in the cen tury dash. The same men will also run in the 220 sprint. Kenneth Cozier, Trexler, Crecelius, Johnson and sev eral others will compete in the quarter-mile dash. Hanson, Kreiger and Johnson are expected lo star in the half-mile and in the mile and two mile events a number of promising distance runners will compete. Jotter has been show ing up well in the mile run and is relied upon to do some fast running today. The high and low hurdles will be run by Crecelius, Myers, Gish, Wil liams and Crites, who have been step ping thrcugh tho timbers at a fast pace rnd will undoubtedly knock off several points for Nebraska in these events. Strong in Weight The Curn.hu.sker yearlings are un usually strong in the field events. In the shotput, javelin anil the discu.; the freshmen will be represented by Parks, Myers, Frazier and other cap able athletes. Lloyd and Uloodgood are the Huskors entered in the broad jump. R.O.T.C. BASEBALL FINALS ARE TODAY Company E to Battle Company G at Ag College Dia-' mond At three o'clock today at the Ag College diamond. Company G and Company 12 will meet in the finals of tho inter-company R. O. T. C. baseball tournament. Company G defeated Company L, one to nothing, and Company K seven to six, while Company E defeated Company F fifteen to ten, and Com pany C seven to five, in the first games of the tournament. In the athletic competitions between companies, Company G has won the basketball and track tournaments and if they win their game against Com pany E, they will hold three chain pionships. A pennant donated by Red Long will be given to the winner of the game. FOUNDATION DRIVE TO END THIS WEEK The Woodrow Wilson Foundation Drive is being completed through a complete canvass of all the sororities. fraternities, dormitories and literary societies, ending Sunday, May 20. Nebraska is given this chance to show her backing of this rroat world movement. Little more than $110 have been raised during the two day cam paign on the campus.
