Oxford, according to Mr. Hirst, Is the
Oxford Union society, composed of
over half the students In the univcr
slty. This Is an organization which
fosters the art of debato and public
speaking and has been presided over
by many now famous Englishmen, In.
eluding Mr. Hirst himself.
Plan Another Dinner.
It Is planned to hold another din
ner for the arts college men In the-
near future, probably early next se
mester. The succoss of the Initial
attemDt Indicates that they will
prove very popular and profitable at
fairs.
The committee In charge consisted
of Dean P. M. Buck, Ward M. Randol
Mike Miles, and Orvln B. Gaston.

UNIVERSITY SHOWS FILMS
OF THE NATIONAL GUARDS
The conservation and survey dl
vision of the university has just re
cently finished two films for the state
national guards. One of these- fi'ms
was taken at the state meeting cf
the American legion at Fremont and
the other shows maneuvers at Fort
Dodge. Thesei films are to be shown
at all the camps throughout the
state and also to be used for educa
tional purposes of the guard. The
university furnished the material for
the production and the expense of
the negative and positive fllrristoclt
was paid by the guards.
. Prof. Sjogren, who 'has been con
valesclng after an operation, is re
ported to) fee Improving in health
again.
Prof. Van Es of the animal patho
logy department met his classes again
Wednesday after an absence of three
weeks, due to illness. Dr. Skidmore
conducted Dr. Van Es' classes dur
ing his confinment.
