A number of promising: first year men
are already working on the basketball

The Scarlet and Cream quintet will
probably be the heaviest that has rep

for the coming season. With Carmen,
Smith, Warren, Lewehen, Hartley,
Holland, Schapers, Munger, Haverley,
and a number of other promising cage

ORGANIZATION
Colonel Talbot is Head of New
"Cadet Officers Club"
Started Tuesday.
The cadet officers of the R. O. T.
C. unit of the University of Nebraska
met Tuesday night at the invitation of
Colonel Talbot, for the purpose of dis
cussing certain matters pertinent to
the continued success and betterment
of the unit. It was decided by all
present that the best co-operation be
tween the regiment and it's student
officers as well as with the Command
ing Office could be obtained by hav
ing an organization of the cadet of
ficers and thru this organization the
students and Commanging Officers
could work for the best interests of
the regiment.
Such an organization was duly
formed, to be known as tlie "Cadet
Officers Club," and Colonel Tulbot
was Installed as chairman. The re
malnder of the meeting was devoted
to a discussion of future events and
plans of the new club, and it is na
sured that a groat year is in store for
every member of the regiment.
The Nebraska unit has a excellent
chance to be a distinguished college
this year in military work and with
the loyal help of every cadet will
stand at the top. The delegation to
the camp for the coming summer must
contain men who will win everything
and make other schools recognize her
superiority in military affairs as they
have done in football and will In
basket ball.

which defeated the engineers and tied
the last years' victorious law team.
There was an excellent turnout, places
were laid for 133. Several of the foot
ball men were called on and Athletic
Director Luehring gave an inspiring
talk as an asset in business, bringing
out the fact that our body was an in-
