VALLEY CHAMPS
HERE TOMORROW
Varsity football at Oklahoma and Has
kell won his first "()" when a yeail
ing. He returned to the I'niversity ia
PUT and suffered a dislocated verta
brae in his neck the first week of
jnactice. He was forced to wilhdraw
from school on account of his injury
and for two years Haskell was an in-
alid. In l!H!l lie returned to the
Sooner colors and won his second let
ter at the end of that year.
Last season Haskell was first string
end with the Missouri Valley confer
ence championship eleven from Soon
crland and was mentioned on a'most
every all-Valley selection made by
sport writers thruout the Valley. He
was elected to lead the Soonors the;:
secon 1 year in the Valley and his b'st
season eligible for Oklahoma football.
Haskell is a born fighter. Although
weighing but lf pounds he is one of
the most dependable defense ends Hen
(1. Owen, director of Sooner athletics
ever produced. His ability to catch to--ward
pusses marks him m particularly
adapted to Owen football since the
veteran coach of the Valley is on? of
the strongest adhorants of the aerrii
game in football.
