For. the selection of Nebraska' teams a preliminary contest will b held, probably next Tuesday, accord ing to bulletin board announcement in the Intercollegiate Debate Semi nary, Room U 106 A, by Prof. t.l. M. Fogg. Some fifteen students hao indicated their intention to competi tor the honor of representing the Uu versity. Four members of each teuiu will be appointed three speakers anj one ydternate. Iowa selected her teams over a week ago. The first round of argument wil' this year be cut from the usual iveUe minutes to eight or nine minut 3 ar.'i the time for the rebuttal argumtnis will be increase to six minutes. This will give more time for the give-and-take open fomm discussion at tht end of the regular debate, when the au-V'ence will put questions to tlie members of the teams. CYRIL COOMBS TALKS TO DRAMATIC CLASS Cyril Coombs of the University Players has given two very Interest ing talks to the members of the Dra matic class at the last two regular meetings. Mr. Coombs explained the workings of the "nys; wings, scenery," and other stage apparatus. Practical work with the various tage properties was taken up and the girls displayed as much ability In setting the scenes as did the men. Mr. Coombs plans to give the mem bers of the class more of this work and acquaint them with the workings of the different stage properties.
