Valkyrie.
Valkyrie, an honorary Senior Kilts'
society, gave a tea Saturday after
noon at the Delta Zota house, at
which they entertained two pirls
from each of the fifteen sororities.
The Valkyrie hostesses were Martha
Krugnjann. Thelma Detweiler, Ar
line Abbott, Gertrude Mcllaae, Aileen
O'Liiughlin, Doris Hates, Helen Har
rington and Marjorie Barstow. There
was a . short program: Vocal roIo,
Marguerite Smith; Russian dance
Helen Burkett, and another vocal
solo, Helen Duggan. The refresh
ments were tea, sandwiches and
candy.
Acacia.
Acacia entertained twenty-five
couples at the first of a series ol
matinee dances Saturday afternoor
at the chapter house, their guests
being members of Kappa Kappa Gam
ma. The house was in gold and black

luncheon was served. Those invited
as chaperons were Mr. nnd Mrs. Ae
gust Lueba and Mrs. V. A. Brown
Acacia house mother.
Acacia has a huge fireplace ol' the
dd fashioned make. The fireplace
was put to good use Saturday aft
crnoon and proved one of the tea
tures of the party.
Sigma Tau. 1
Sigma Tau, 'honorary engineering
fraternity, held its first dance of the
year Dec. 11 nt Ellen Smith Hall
Twenty-five couples attended. Christ
mas decorations were used, the fea
ture being a large electrically lighted
Christmas tree upon which were hung
favors. The chaperons were Profes
sor and Mrs. C. E. Mickey, Professor
and Mrs. George R. Chatburn, Pro
fessor and Mrs. L. V. Chase and
frofessor and Mrs. J. Y. Haney.
t Alpha Sigma Phi.
Alpha Sigma Phi entertained at a
dancing, party at the chapter house
Saturday evening. Cardinal and gray,
the fraternity colors, were used in the
decorations. The chaperons were Mr,
and Mrs. E. IT. Dunaway and Mr. and
Mrs. Iiek Cole.

Vallery-Stretton.
A weeding of interest in Univer
sity circles took place in Maynard,
Wednesday evening when Miss Doris
Vallory became the bride of Charles
T. Stretton of Chester, Neb. The
marriage took place at the home of
the bride's mother, Mrs. J. R. Vallery
in the presence of a small party ot
the immediate relatives and was fol
low fd by a bridal dinner. After a
wedding trip to-Denver, Mr. and .Mrs.
Stretton will be at home In Scotts-
bluff. The bride is a member ot
Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and the
groom of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity.

slty Union Society Saturday evening.

interest a larger number of students
in the advanced program of the R
O. T. C. The Military Department
at the University se'ects students fi.r
these courses upon their ability. The
War Department gives them a com-
mutatio nallowance.
The course includes two summers
spent in a training camp at the gov
ernment's expense. A commission as
second lieutenant in ' the reserve
army is the reward offered after a
student finishes a four year's course.
The report was referred to the
Course of Study Committee which
will determine the amount of college
credit that will be given-"for this
advanced work.

Four Hundred at
United "Ag" Mixer
More than four hundred members
of the Agricultural College . attended
the United "Ag" Club mixer at the
Armory Saturday night. The first,
part of the evening was given over to
a special program. Holiday decora
lions were used throughout the build
ing. The last part of the evening was
spent in dancing. A five-piece orches
tra furnished the music. The purpose
of the mixer was to aid members of
the "Ag" College in forming acquaint
ances among students and faculty
members in that college. Members of
the State Farm faculty chaperoned
the party.
