Admirers of cowboys would hail him
with a shout for he is a real one and,
on the side he wins "Rose" and a
gold mine.
"Littlo Women" Orpheum.
Mog and Jo, Beth, Amy and Laurie
and all the rest of that happy troupe
which have delighted us all so often,
paraded once more before the eyes ot
a delighted audience last Tuesday.
Miss Edith May Clarke In the role
of "Jo" was the outstanding feature.
Although prettier than one thinks Jo
was, she plays her part well and keeps
her , audience on the road between
tears and laughter throughout the
play. The scenery aids the cast in
converging over the footlights that
peaceful atmosphere which Is half of
the play.

An unusually good and "diffeient"
bill is the one which the Orpheum has
this week. Lovett's "Concentration,"
which is the headliner is a most
unique entertainment. Mr. Lovett
through the power of concentration,
has his orchestra play any musical
selection any one person hums over
in his mind. At first the audience Is
inclined to be skeptical but Is finally
convinced of the man's wonderful
power. Charles Kenna, who initiates
a street fakir and Jack Trainor and
company In a clever skit are perhaps
the next best on the bill. Bob Nelson
and Frank Cronin in a Jazz song act
are also good.

"Well, Boss, we have to show our
sand now," is the Iheme of the pic
ture at the Rialto. And William S.
Hart with his loyal horse, Boss, shows
his usual grit .and dauntlessness
which is always a source" of pleasure
to his admirers.

of coal were shown in the film pre
sented by the Mechanical Engineer
ing Department Thursday in room 206
of the Mechanical Engineering build
ing. "The Story of Coal," by the Pea
body Coal Company, gave a complete
survey of the coal manufacturing
field. Views of the big mines of the
country with close ups of the mining
settlements were featured. The dif
ferent processes of the mining, haul
ing, washing and loading of coal were
taken up. ' '

Indications are that the Engineer

football season comes to a close.
From forty to fifty engineers have
been reporting dally for practice on
the field north of the Social Science
building. . Work thus far has been
limited to kicking and passing the
ball and rudimentary signal practice.
The squad is handicapped by lack ot
football suits and until the players
are able to discard gym suits and
overalls and don the moleskins scrim
mage will be very lightly indulged in.
Due to the many laboratory periods
carried by the engineers practice is
possible only from 5 to 6 o'clock from
Monday to Friday and from 8 to la
o'clock Saturday morning. Luni
Doyle, Husker football star in the
days of Jumbo Steihm, is coaching
the squad.
