NOTRE DAME AUTHORITIES
BAR TWO GRIDIRON STARS
NOTRE DAME. Ind., Sept. 22.
Football prospects at Notre Dame
University were given a nasty back
spin today when the University fac
ulty declared George Gipp and Leon
ard Bahan, stellar members of the
champion 1919 team, ineligible for
further competition.
Gipp was an all-western halfback
last season and his sensational for
ward passing figured prominently in
winning the western title for Notre
Dame. Bahan was captain and quar- j
ter baclr of the same team.
The loss of Gipp and Bahan will
be a Fevere blow to the Notre Dame
team. Followers of the Nebraska
Cornhuskers are well acquainted with
the prowess of Gipp and Bahan, both
of whom were in the lineup against

Little Fruit.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. Burglarizing
the apartments of professors is not a
very lucrative undertaking, a couple
of second-story men learned to their
chagrin one night this week when
the total amount they secured from
the trousers of three educators in a
local fraternity house netted them
exactly 70 cents. The men who were
robbed are three high school profes
sors. Lowry A. Doran, principal; John
K. Bear and Raymond Clouse.
They make their, home in Kappa
Alpha Fraternity House, where, . In
the spirit of hospitality, the key was
thrown away years ago and the door
of the house has not been locked
since. In light of recent develop

will be changed. In the trousers of
Doran the burglars found 40 cents,
while those of Bear produced 30
cents. In Clouse'a pockets nothing
