ATTEMPTED MURDER IS FOILED j IN CLASS ROOM BY STUDENTS; (Continued from Tape On) j prevented his shooting; others say I that the detective shot before the : man reached him. j Testimonies as to the appearance ,.f the couple vary widely. The man j w ho escaped through the window is described by the man who followed him as wearing a red coat. The de tor-live says he wore a gray- coat. that the girl carried Sonie say bundle in one hand and a revolver in j ihe other. Others, say that the man j carried the bundle. It is not even j n creed whether the girl is blonde or brunette. ) A Frame-Up , When the excitement subsided Dr. Hyde asked each member of the class to wriie a description of what he had sen.. The class was Dr. Hyde's psychology class, and the near-murder crene they witnessed was a stunt put on by upperclassmen of the psycho logical experiment to test the powers el observation of the individuals in ti.e class. Tew realized that the stunt was a put up affair till it was almost completed. The man who pursued the villain and Ihe one who held up ti e detective really thought they were interfering with an attempted murder. The experiment was one of several to illustrate applied psychology. Two have been given this semester to illus trate psychology as applied to law; one a criminal experiment to discover the guilty party, the other, fidelity of report. The second one demonstrated vividly the unreliability of eye-witness evidence in rapid action. Others are to be given which illustrate psy chology practically applied to advertising. your FURS! ; s FUR l: F- i a ( $ .
