JOHNSTON'S CANDY One and Two Pounds PILLERS RESCRIPTION 1ARMACY THE DAILY DITTY by Gayle Vincent Grubb They're here! From every hamlet, burg, They've come to enter strife, And I've never seen so many youths In all my dad-burned life, With sweaters, Gad, there's every "shade From "punkln" top to beet, And appetites that know no fill And mouths that always eat We greet you tho', my sons, and hope The luck be all your way That the "hum" town fire bell will clang out 'Cause you're victor of the day; But ah, as one who's traveled o'er Our life's tempestuous tide, I ween you'd list to what I say And hark as I confide. Please cast the colored collar far A-down the rubbage can, And hear not when the clothing gent Begins like he's began; Let's have no more of tennis shoes As footwear for the feet; Let's cut the colored collar out And play and win and eat Now, fear not that I chastise you Because of what I think, I only carry on the news By means of printer's ink; And yet let's beat the Jewish guy That brings out by-gone slop And throws It In your lamplight 'till Yuh get me right, old top? The editors feel keenly the need for more linotype operators and pressmen and believe that this need may be met through the proper instruction In the University. Excellent wages are paid craftsmen of the printing trade and the editors are sure that If the course is offered, a large number of students will take advantage of the opportunity to se cure an education In this line. While the detailed plans have not been com pletely worked out, It is probable that those students who do the work for the publications will receive a salary as well as credit for their work. Mr. Busk Intends to make a trip to the In dianapolis Typesetting School within a short time to secure Ideas for the management of the school at Nebras ka. STATE TOURNEY IN FULL SWING (Continued on page 4) Club. Banquets, programs and vari ous athletics events have been sched uled to meet the pleasure of the high school guests and there is little doubt but what the visiting teams will greatly profit by their short stay in Lincoln, Last Minute Changes Several changes were made in the schedules late Tuesday afternoon, for the Deaf was taken from Class C to Class C and the Nebraska School for the Deaf was taken from Calss C and put in the position originally held by Ravenna in Class D. It Is gen erally believed that this is a better adjustment of the teams, as Ravenna has a team which easily exceeds any ther in Class D. Word was received by Director Schissler yesterday that West Point could not enter the tournament. No reason was given but the Cuming County lads were re moved from the schedule and the necessary changes made. Speculation is rife as to the prob able winners in the upper classes, especially in Class A. Lincoln Is thought by many to be the most dan gerous contender, but Omaha School of Commerce, ninner-up of the mee last year, is again on hand with a Rtrlng team of veterans. Norfolk an Lexington are reputed to have exceed ingly fast quintets and either one of these teams may loom up as the "dark horse" of the tourney. Omaha Central and University Place are also aggre gations of great merit. No doubt sev eral surprises will be sprung in the first round of play.
