The election of the student mem bers to the University Athletic Hoard has been called off becauso of the peculiar situation which has arisen. Last Monday six men had filed their names as candidates with Dr. Clapp before the list was otllcially closed. Since that time one of the six has withdrawn his candidacy, and the re maining five are therefore automatic ally elected. The following letter from Dr. Clapp tlarlfles the situation: "Inasmuch as only six candidates for student membership on the Uni versity Athletic Hoard have complied with the requirements of the constitu tion In filing statements of candidacy and one of the six candidates (E. II Schellenberg) has requnested that his name be withdrawn, the faculty com mittee in charge of the election has unanimously decided that no election will be necessary under these circum stances, and have agreed to recom mend to the Athletic Board that the five remaining eligible candidates in dicated below be declared the student representatives for the coming year: Paul Dobson, Charles Glllllan, Byron McMahon, Richard V. Wyer is leaving the Li brary War Service of the American Library association after having been associated with us for many months. "May I take this opportunity t say to you that few men have been permitted by their institutions to give more generously of their time than Mr. Wyer, and few have succeeded in doing so well the work they have undertaken. CARL LILJENSTOPLE KILLED IN ACCIDENT Carl A. Llljenstople, ex-'14. formerly a student in tne civu engineering de partment at the University, was In stantly killed this week when a train hit the automobile In which he was riding. The accident occurred near North Platte, Nebr. Liljenstople's home was in Scotts Bluff. He had many friends among students at the University who will regret to learn of his death.
