Condra Talks to Engineers At a
meeting of the general engineering so
ciety on Thursday afternoon in the
mechanical engineering laboratory au
ditorium, Dr. George E. Condra gave a
very interesting talk to the members
of the society, which was illustrated
with motion pictures.
New Club Leader for Extension
Work C. W. Watson, leader of the
University junior extension work, has
announced the appointment of Mrs
Lola Matheny as junior club leader of
Scotts Bluff County. Mrs. Matheny is
principal of a consolidated school in
Scotts Bluff County and served as club
leader of that county six months last
year. She is now permanently em
ployed as club leader on a twelve
months contract. Everett T. Winter,
a graduate of the university school of
agriculture, has been apopinted Junior
club leader of Butler county. W. H
Deaver, superintendent of the Milligan
schools, is the new junior club leader
of Fillmore County. Ho served in this
capacity four months last year. J. C.
McMillan, formerly state pig club lead
er, has been appointed city club leader
of Kearney.
THREE SUCCESSFUL IN
DRAMATIC CLUB TRYOUTS
At the usual second semester Dra
matic club tryouts which were held
Tuesday night in the Temple the fol
lowing persons were elected to mem
bership in the Dramatic club:
Zora Wunderlich.
Stoddard Robinson.
Louis Finkelstein.
A large number of students pre
sented scenes from the most familiar
American plays and much talent was
exhibited, especially on the part of
the three new members.
Thursday evening at the Temple
the members of the Dramatic club
enjoyed a presentation of "Strong
heart," the Senior class play of the
Agricultural high school.

secretary of the university.
Minnesota Seniors of the univers
ity are circulating a petition asking
the faculty to repeal the ruling order
ing final examinations for seniors.
Illinois Fox-trotting an roller

by the women at a skating party in
the woman's gymnasium.
New York Money amounting to
$35,000 has been paid to members of
the S. A. T. C. for subsistence last
fall.
Northwestern The honor system
has been revived during the coming
examinations.
Purdue A memorial theater, cost
ing $125,000, will be erected in honor
of the men who were killed in the
war, if the plans of the university's
memorial committee are successful.
Western Reserve The University
Improvement Association has pur
chased three square block of land
near the school, with a view of erect
ing new buildings and expanding the
campus in the near future.
Princeton The University quartet
has returned from oversens, where
entertainments were given Pt the va
rious camps and in the front-line
trenches.
