Freshmen Lost Two
The Nebraska freshmen were not
so lucky as the varsity and had the
misfortune to lose both their games
to the first year men from the Kan
sas Ag. school. The Farmers had
the great deal the best of it in size,
and weight and easily were the bet
ter of the lighter Nebraska team.
However, the Husker youngsters put
up a mighty game fight and scrapped
the husHer opponents to the finish.
Yungmeyer, the "Aggies" left for
ward, was by far the individual star
of the games. In the first game he
made good on 11 out of 12" free
throws, putting in the first eight
without a miss. Beklns was the in
dividual hero of the Nebraska aggre
gation and played a wonderful game
at center against a much larger op

cultural Students
The Nebraska Farmer Is offering
$22 In prizes to student's ot the col
lege .of agriculture for the.three best
farm stories, with space rates tor all
others found worthy of publication
The first prize will be $10; the
second $7, and the third $5.
Conditions f the Contest
1. Those competing must be stu
dents of the college of agriculture.
2. Stories must tell of actual farm
experience or practice, either on the
home farm or on some farm with
which the writer is acquainted. Real
facts, accurate and concise, aro
wanted. The articles may deal with
any phase of farm life crops, live
stock, buildings or machinery.
3. The length of the stories should
be from 800 to 1,000 words. Photo
graphs will help tell the story.
4. Space rates will be paid for all
articles which do not win prizes but
are considered worthy of publication.
5. All manuscripts must be in the
hands of the editors by Monday,
