V Visits Nebraskans At Fort Snelling Miss Florence McGahey, returned last Friday from a ten-day's visit with her brother, who is at the officers tain ing camp at Fort Snelling. While at the fort Miss McGahey had the oppor tunity of seeing many of the Nebraska men who are at the camp. A number of the Nebraska men she saw at the camp, have already received their commissions and are drilling re cruits of the regulary army. Merrill Reed, Bernard Huiless and Edward Terlev are lieutenants in the regular 'army Several men in their companies do not read or write English. In one company there are men speaking six languages. This makes the work of the officers very difficult. The man ual of tactics and drill is translated into the several different languages of the men in the company and interpre ters are sometimes required. Other men whom Miss McGahey saw were her brother, C. K. Mose, Herman Kramer, Harold Corey, Clalbone Perry, Harold Campbell. Cyril Hrbek. Adrian Bryan, Harry Theisen, Hugh Birming ham. Richard Russel, Nye Morehouse and Professor C. W. Taylor. NEWS FROM CAMP Harry P. Letton, C. E. Perhaps if Nebraska had not gone dry it would never have happened Years ago when the English club was making traditions for its future members to uphold, a mysterious jug appeared. The jug's origin has been disputed, but those who should have known, said it was bought by a mil lion freshman themes. A certain professor of rhetoric, a member of the club, was elected cus todian of the jug. Because he could find room for it nowhere else, he said, he placed it on a high shelf m his office in the department. There an in quisitive reporter found it two years ago, found it cowwebby and dusty, but not empty! 1 50 Nebraskans Commissioned for Service Brigade Headquarters.
