Promotions for Next Year Will Not be Made Until New 8emester Begins One company of war strength has been organized in the military depart ment and will carry on the training until the end of the year under the direction of Sergeant William Allen, acting head of the department since the departure of Captain Samuel Parker, commandant, for Fort Snell ing. Adolph Blunk, '17, is major of the battalion as It remains, H. B. Whitfield. '17, Is captain, and Arthur Mickey. '18, is first lieutenant. The annual appointments in the de partment will not be made until the beginning of the work next year and will be left to the commandant who is selected to have charge of the work here at that time. Captain Parker will not be back next year, according to advice from the office yesterday. Orders have been sent out from the headquarters at Washington directing special training for the cadets at the present and everything is conducted in a manner which will be most help ful to the training of the men for ser vice. Orders have been Issued all over the country forbidding the dlstribut Ine of any more supplies, arms and ammunition to educationl institutions and rifle clubs.
