Pro fessor Ross of the University of Iowa made the remark that the modern girl s highly concerned with "husband catching," and that she ornaments herself wilh the Idea of appealing to man. Such a storm of protest has broken from the Iowa co-eds that It looks as if the said professor had bet ter find him a hole to crawl In, and pull the hole in after him. Every girl on the campus flared up and gave it to him "served hot." They say that their choice of clothing is governed by personal pride, and that it is a mat ter of the greatest (indifference to them what the men think about them. Only one girl, candid enough to agree with Prof. Ross, said that "there are three kinds of girls; those who are husband catching,' those who have another serious purpose, and those who are indifferent and willing to take whatever happens." Ex. Frosrt Paint "N" The University of Nevada has a large "N" on the mountain side near the university. Recently the Frosh had the audacity to paint a nice big '20 in the lower left hand corner of the "N." They kept it secret for a week, not a soul knew It outside of a few Frosh. and they were pledged to secrecy. But when they took a pic ture of their work, and entrusted that evidence in the hands of a woman, they made a mistake, for freshmen were not the only ones who saw that proof. The '20 is up there as plain as day, and it only remains to see what the Sophs are going to do. Ex. i ,.i i, th nrnm committee uct?u uiauo , w and was rigidly .enforced. Ex. Grinnell An officers' reserve camp will be established at Grinnell col lege next year if arrangements now pending with the fetleral government can be completed. An attempt will be made to secure the services of a regular army officer, but If this is found impossible the camp will Ire put in charge of a reserve or retired officer. Further development of these plans will depend on the action taken by congress on the universal service bill. If the bill is amended so that men will receive credit for military work done In college it is almost certain that Grinnell will have a reserw camp next fall. Ex.
