Baseball has again been made a varsity sport at Nebraska. According to the Missouri valley conference rules, no one has been allowed to play on a conference baseball team If he has played the game professionally. When the eligibility of players has been investigated, some of the schools have been rather unscrupulous in their declarations. Nebraska has refused to forget her principles, and as a result, there has not been enough material in the school for a good team. Now, there is a new understanding in the Conference, and men who play on quasi-professional teams in the summer, Instead of selling alum inum ware, or magazines, can play on a university team. The other universities In the conference were anxious to have Nebraska as a rival in baseball as well as football and Nebraska is anxious to have another means of "showing them a few things." A game has been scheduled with Missouri, for next year. It has been several years since Nebraska has met Missouri and the name looks good on next year's program. Syracuse university has asked to play the Thanksgiving game with Nebraska, in Lincoln, and there is a question whether Nebraska shall play the eastern team or schedule another game with Notre Dame. We know what Notre Dame can do. They have a good team and a wide reputation. But on the other hand, a game with Syracuse would be a far better advertising proposition for the University, especially if Nebraska should win. Syracuse plays such, schools as Colgate, Brown, Harvard, Yale and Michigan. Notre Dame plays almost ex clusively with mid-western schools, in practically the same part of the country. If Notre Dame should bring a crowd to the Thanksgiving game, surely Syracuse, traveling half way across the continent, would bring more than a crowd. Kansas again! This time it is a debate between Nebraska and the Jayhawks. According to the Daily Kansan, the team is coining up here Wednesday evening to "beat 'em again." Surely if Nebraska can't "walk away" with victory it can talk it away! UNIVERSITY NOTICES Junior Play Committee Meeting of junior play committee in U. 112, Tuesday morning, 11 o'clock. Important. F.
