HIKERS' CLUB PLANS
WALK TO GREENWOOD
AND RETURN, SATURDAY
With the brisk air and bright days
of fall, not only football, but walking,
has taken a prominent place in the
minds of University students, especial
ly the men. The University of Nebras
ka Hikers' club, an organization
formed to -promote this almost forgot
ten art, has announced a contest for
members to be held Saturday morn
ing, November B. With the old men,
the initiates will walk to Greenwood
and back, all In one morning and In
time to eee the Ames game.
The Greenwood hike is a favorite
one of the club, which has been in ex
istence for some time. Some of the
members of the club were among those
who started to walk to Omaha last
spring, but were held up by rain.
The invitation to join the organiza
tion was issued by Gifrora can
Kirsch, president, and Leslie Giffen,
vice-president.

CONFESSIONAL
'Tis not thy -worldly hope or fear,
O fellowr soul! that I would hear;
Nor would 1 know thy hidden sin
What dark corruption lurks within
These things tell not to me!
But that bright thought on rainbow
wing,
That once across thy soul did fling
The radiance of its golden beam
'Tis that unspoken glorious dream
That I would know of thee.
That -light from all the world con
cealed, To me alone be it revealed;
The glory of thy soul lay bare,
And in its brightness let me share
Tis this 1 ask of thee.
Constance Rummons, '26.
SELF-DEDICATION
My soul I consecrate
To highest thought and aims;
And Thee I supplicate
O Thou whose legion names
Are but the masks of Thee
Eternal Entity!
This give me power to do:
To hold my soul still true.
Tho goal be unattained,
And guerdon never gained,
Tho faltering be my pace,
Still may 1 turn my face
Unto the distant gleam
Of Truth's directing beam.
