OPPORTUNITY FOR SHORT
COURSES IN AGRICULTURE
Now is the time for all towns wish
ing to have an agricultural short
course or extension school next win
ter to make application to the Exten
sion Service of the College of Agri
culture at Lincoln. Several applica
tions have already been received, but
there are still a few dates open. An
agricultural short course is similar to
a four days' farmers institute, except
thtt definite courses are given in but
three subjects. A selection of sev
eral different courses is offered to the
men in farm mechanics, soils, animal
husbandry, dairying, insect pests, farm
management, vegetable and fruit
growing, plant diseases, poultry, rope
tying and electrical wiring. The wom
enlso, have lectures and demonstra
tions on foods and dietetics, and tex
tiles and clothing. The community
Tishing to have a short course Is ask
ed to pay only the local expenses. If
sufficient Interest is shown in secur
ing such a course at any point, the
Extension Service of the College of
Agriculture will send a representa
tive to explain the details of such a
ueeting and arrange for dates. Fur
ther information concerning the na
ture znd work of the short course
may be had by writing for Extension
Bulletin So. 37 of the College of Agri
culture, which has just been issued.

University yesterday from Delaware.
Ohio, where he attended the funeral
of his father-in-law. Dr. P. M. Hall.
Silas JL Bryan,. 15. who is attending
the Harvard law school, returned to
Lincoln last Saturday to spend the
