protest has been raised by the student

COMMERCIALS DEFEAT AGGIES
The School of Commerce team won
from the Aggies last Thursday by a
score of 5 to l,--in a game featured
by the pitching of Williams for the
Commercials, and the batting of
Raceley, .ho made a home run with
two on bases. Williams let the Ag
gies down with but one hit.
Batteries: Commercials, Williams
and Shelladay; Aggies, Bergquist
and Oleson.

DELTA GAMMA PARTY
Delta Gamma entertained at a pic
nic-dance Friday evening at Capitol
beach. The chaperons were Prof.
Robert Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Korsemeyer, Searle Davis and Miss
Mary Dunphy. Saturday afternoon the
Borority gave a tea and luncheon in
honor of the mothers and their grand
president, Mrs. J. Pason Streat, of
Leland Stanford, California.
The annual Mother's day of the
Delta Gamma sorority was held Sat
urday. Following a luncheon at the
Lincoln, the mothers were taken for
an auto trip about the town.- Later
in the afternoon a musical tea and
reception was held at the chapter
house.
DELTA GAMMA MOTHER'S DAY
ALPHA TAU OMEGA PICNIC
The Alpha Tau Omega picnic was
held at Horkey's park at Crete, Fri
day. About forty couples attended.
Tlie time was spent in dancing and
boating. The chaperons were Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Shoemaker, Mr. and Mrs.
Glen Benrick and Guy Reed.
PAN-HEL DANCE
The Pan-Hellenic dance at the Audi
torium Saturday evening was wel at
tended. Ernest Moehnert, '16, was
chairman, and George Irwin, '17, was
master of ceremonies.
Alpha Delta Pi gave a dancing par
ty at Electric park Friday evening.
Thirty couples attended. Prof, and
Mrs. G. W. Hood, Mary Graham and
Arthur Hiltner were chaperons. Zeta
Higgins of Walnut, Iowa, was a guest
of the sorority.
Of the eighty-seven Americans in
Oxford, many have been granted
leaves of absence for .Y. M. C. A., Red
Cross and Belgium relief work.
Miss Mildred Peery, '16, will be a
member of the English department at
Mary Baldwin seminary at Stanton,
Va., next year. It is quite an honor
for a western girl to receive such an
appointment.
Alice Fullerton, '18, who, with her
mother, has been spending the winter
in California, returned to Lincoln
Friday.
The Y. W. C. A. pageant, which
was scheduled at the farm for Sat
urday afternoon, was postponed be
cause of the rain.
The Phi Delta Theta picnic Friday
was postponed on account of the
weather.
Leon Gillilan, '15, was a week-end
guest at the Alpha Tau Omega house,
Exeter
One hundred and sixty-seven
Rhodes scholars have entered the ser
vice of Great Britain and her allies
Southwestern
"This has been a red letter week for
Southwestern in the baseball world,"
reads the Megaphone. "Southwestern
humbled state university, 3 to 2, and
the Brownwood Baptists met their
Waterloo, 9 to 0.
The seniors won the first girls' in
door track meet ever held at Mis
souri. The events were high Jump,
rope vault, volley ball game and po
tato race.
