THURSDAY, JANUARY 6, 1916
There can be no question but what the students are pleased to
learn that a reduction has been made in the price of pictures for the
Cornhusker. No one would want to see the earnings of the Corn
husker staff reduced at the cost of the book but every student inter
ested in his book is pleased to see a staff that is willing to reduce
costs in order to lighten the burden shouldered by the student body.
How the management has been able to do away with the former
$15.00 charge for each military company represented in the Corn
husker is not of as much consequence as the fact that the charge
has been eliminated arid that the military men appreciate the action
taken.
The Daily Nebraskan staff also has something to be thankful
for in this connection; the exchequer of the business manager will
be $75.00 "to the good" and the reporters may now get the pay we
have so long been trying to get for them and to which they are, '
without question, entitled.
The university employment bureau has always been of service
to the students and from present appearances, with a broadened j
field, it will be a greater benefactor. One question which has always
caused difficulty in this connection has been the fact that students
would never report to the bureau when they had filled a position
and the management would. consequently send others down to the
aggravation of the employer. Watch this from now on, you who
benefit through the services of this bureau, for you owe that much
courtesy at least. As a matter of fact, you could not blame anyone
except yourself if you were not aided in the future if you failed to
comply with the rules.
