Dr. F. J. Kelly, 1902, director of the
training school of the Kansas state
normal school, has been notified of
his appointment to the deanship of
the school of education of the Uni
versity of Kansas. Following his
graduation Mr. Kelly taught in the
public schools at Cedar Rapids, Neb.,
and then went to Lead, S. D., as head
of the training school of the state

MIXER SATURDAY NIGHT
Committee Lists Announced Admis

Elaborate Program
A large committee was selected yes
terday, which will have charge of the
"mixer" Saturday night. This is one
of the best school entertainments of
the year, and the large list of com
mitteman and patrons goes to show
that it is well supported.
The "mixer" will be the place for
al students. There the new students
will make friends and old ones will
renew their acquaintances. An elab
orate program of music, dancing,
games and refreshment is being plan
ned. The dancing will begin at 9
o'clock in the big gymnasium, while
the games will be going on in the
smaller one. Movin pictures of the
football team and the pageant will be
shown in the intervals between the
dances.
The majority of girls will go in
groups or by themselves. Freshmen
are urged to be present, for the event
is especially planned for them. Ad
mission, a quarter. The following Is,

New Candidates Announced
Miss Julia Quinby, Omaha, and
Miohell Nolan, Alliance, have filed as
candidates for the Freshmen presi
dency, and Frank C. Boehmer, Lin
coln, for the Sophomore presidency.
Miss Quinby is the daughter of State
Senator Laurie J. Quinby. It is her
intention to the enter the College of
Law next year. Michell Nolan is a
member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilou
fraternity. He represented the North
western district of the Nebraska high
school debating league in 1914.
Frank C. Boehmer is well known and
promises to make the triangular con
test in the Sophomore class a lively
one.
